AFSCME Power in Action
AFSCME Power In Action is working for you as the leading political and legislative organization for public employees and public service providers in local school districts, cities, counties, universities, hospitals and communities across Ohio.
Power In Action is a joint program between AFSCME Council 8 and AFSCME Retiree Chapter 1184, representing more than 55,000 active members and retirees.
AFSCME Power In Action has the experience and credibility to work effectively with state legislators, members of Congress and local elected officials. At every level of government, the program works to expand the rights of working and middle-class families and individuals.
It’s easy for any AFSCME member or retiree to get involved with Power In Action by learning more about the Area PEOPLE Committees (APCs). Each of the 18 APCs represents a different region within Ohio. The committees meet regularly, and give members the chance to be directly involved in grassroots political activities like local candidate recruitment, screening and endorsement.
